Hello all! My name is Casey Hume. For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with dreadlocks. I have always loved the fact that they were so unique and free. In 2018, I finally fulfilled my dream and got dreadlocks! Before I got my dreads, I did a lot of research on types of dreads and made the decision to go with crocheted dreadlocks due to the fact that they are all natural. This means my dreadlocks have no chemicals or wax in them, and they are created by hand with just a crochet hook. One thing I realized on my dreaded journey was that there are not many places at all in the U.S. that create crocheted dreadlocks. I personally had to travel over four hours both ways to get mine. This really opened my eyes to the need for more locticians. For the last several months, I have underwent a journey to learn how to create and maintenance crocheted dreads. I have received a certificate through THE DREAD SHED DREADLOCKS crocheted dreadlocks training group which is up in my shop! I am located in the small tourist town of WELLSBORO, PA. I have a private in-home studio set up and waiting. I want nothing more than to make you feel the same DREADED BLISS my dreads have brought me!

STARTING NEW DREADLOCKS:

I do quotes for starting new dreadlocks, so you will know the approximate price upfront, without any surprises. Prices vary due to hair length, hair thickness, desired dread thickness, etc. If you are interested in booking an appointment with me, the form will have you answer questions about your hair, your desired dreads, and will have you upload some pictures for me to assess and create a quote for you.

STARTING NEW DREADLOCKS IS TYPICALLY $65.00 AN HOUR

Things to keep in mind - Creating new dreadlocks is a process that takes time. Each dreadlock is a work of art and needs to be perfected. Since I am a one woman show, this can take some time. If you have long hair, below shoulder length, this can take 12-16 hours or even more if you have thick hair. A full head of dreads is a process that takes more than one day. I will be happy to help you plan your trip details!

DREADLOCKS EXTENSION SERVICES:

Not all dreadlock extensions are the same. There are some things to keep in mind if you are thinking about getting extensions. Are you going to order premade dreadlock extensions or do you want me to make them for you? Upon request, I will make custom dreadlock extensions for you. Please use the contact form to email me directly with exactly what you want, so we can discuss this further. You can also order premade dreadlock extensions. Keep in mind, I create crocheted dreadlock extensions, so you want to make sure the extensions you order are created using the same method. Please complete one of the forms below if you would like to contact me for an estimate. Let me know ahead of time if you are traveling from out of state and I can help you plan your visit efficiently. There are hotel options within 2 miles of me if you plan on staying for more than one day.

My studio is a private, at home studio. Because of this, it is a private address. I am located in Wellsboro, PA. If you have a confirmed appointment with me, you will get a confirmation email which includes my address. There is plenty of off-street parking at my studio. There is also plenty of room for guests! Just let me know ahead of time if you are bringing anyone!

Some things to keep in mind...

Starting a new set of dreadlocks does require a $50 deposit. Don't worry; you don't have to pay that now! Once you get a confirmed appointment time and date, I will send you an email with the information on how to make the deposit. This deposit will be used as a placeholder for your appointment and is refundable up to 48 hours prior to the appointment if you can no longer make it. The deposit will come off the total cost of the final balance. Starting new dreadlocks is $65 an hour.

Dreadlock maintenance requires a $50 deposit. Don't panic; you don't have to pay that now!
